Online Quran Classes USA

Why US Families Choose Online Quran Classes

In most American cities, the nearest Quran teacher is a drive away. The weekend class is often full. Someone else sets the class times. Online lessons fix all 3 problems. The tutor comes on screen at the time you choose. The tutor teaches 1 student for 30 focused minutes. Your family does not have to travel. Parents are busy with school pickups, sports and work. For them, this can decide if a child studies the Quran every week or not at all.

The other reason is attention. In a group class of 15, each child reads for only a couple of minutes. In a private class, every minute is reading, correction and praise. Progress that takes a year in a group often takes a few months one-on-one.

Online Quran Academy in the United States

Salam Campus is an online Quran academy. We teach students in every state, from Texas and Michigan to New York and California. Every class is live and private. A certified tutor stays with the student from the first lesson to the last. We teach the full path, step by step:

Each family gets its own support contact and a progress summary each month. Our phone and WhatsApp line answers 24 hours a day. There is no sign-up fee and no contract. You pay month by month. You can pause at any time when life gets busy.

  • Noorani Qaida (a beginner book for Arabic letters and sounds)
  • Quran reading with Tajweed (the rules for reading the Quran correctly)
  • Hifz (memorizing the Quran)
  • Tafsir (the meaning of the Quran)
  • Arabic and Islamic Studies

Learn Quran Online in the USA with Tajweed

Tajweed is the set of rules that keeps Quran reading correct. It is best learned by listening. In a Salam Campus class, the tutor shows the page on screen and reads a part. Then you read it back while the tutor listens. The tutor fixes each letter and rule as it comes up. The tutor explains every correction in plain English. This way, students learn to hear their own mistakes.

Adults who learned without a teacher often see clear progress within a few weeks. Children who finish Qaida with us usually read the last juz correctly within 6 months. A juz is 1 of the 30 parts of the Quran. After that, these children go on to finish the whole Quran with the same tutor.

Quran Classes for Kids in the United States

Most American children start with Noorani Qaida. Next, they move to Quran reading with Tajweed. Then they choose Hifz, Islamic Studies or Arabic. You get a note after every class and a summary each month. So you always know how your child is doing without asking.

Children are our largest group of students. Tutors are trained to keep a 7-year-old interested on screen. Parents are welcome to sit in at any time. Young children cannot focus for long, so each lesson has 4 short parts:

  • A quick review of the last lesson
  • 1 new idea
  • Reading with the tutor's help and praise
  • A small goal for next time

Class Times in Every US Time Zone

The United States has 4 main time zones, and our class times cover all of them. You may live in New York, Houston, Denver or Los Angeles. Either way, you choose a slot in your own local time, and the tutor adjusts. The busiest times are after school, from 4 pm to 9 pm, and weekend mornings. Classes also start from 5:30 am for adults who study before work.

You can move a class if you tell us 1 day before. You can make up a missed class in the same month. We handle daylight saving changes for you. In Ramadan, we plan new class times around suhoor (the meal before dawn) and taraweeh (the night prayers).

  • Eastern Time: New York, Dearborn, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia
  • Central Time: Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Minneapolis
  • Mountain Time: Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City
  • Pacific Time: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle

Female Quran Teachers for Students in the USA

Many American families prefer a female tutor. Some want one for their daughters. Some mothers want one when they come back to the Quran after years away. Others simply feel more at ease. Salam Campus has female teachers for every course, including Hifz and Tafsir. You can choose one on the trial form. You keep the same teacher for the whole course.

Our female tutors have the same qualifications as our male tutors. They teach in clear English. They have taught both young children and adult beginners.

Our Quran Teachers

Each tutor holds a recognized qualification in Quran reading. Most also hold an Ijazah (a certificate to teach and recite the Quran). Each tutor is trained to teach online, not just to read on camera. Many are native Arabic speakers. All of them teach well in English, and we also have Urdu-speaking tutors. We check each tutor's teaching every term. You can ask for a new tutor at any time.

Want to know how we choose and train our teachers? Read more on the Quran Teachers page.
