Why Parents Choose Online Quran Classes for Kids

Most of us learned at a weekend madrasa. A parent drove us there and waited in the car park. One volunteer teacher tried to help 20 children at once. It worked, but slowly. Online Quran classes for kids are different. Your child gets a private 30 minute lesson at home, 3 or 4 times a week. For that half hour, the teacher has only one job: your child.

You see results fast. Take a child who reads Qaida (the first book of Arabic letters) with a tutor 4 times a week. That child usually finishes it in 4 to 6 months. Then the child moves into the Quran with sound Tajweed (the rules for reading the Quran correctly). The same child in a weekly group can take 2 years. Regular practice makes the difference, not talent. A fixed daily time at home is easier to keep than a weekly drive.

Salam Campus has taught children in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia since we opened. The setup is the same everywhere. There is one child, one certified tutor and one screen. And a parent is always close enough to hear.

Quran Classes for Kids by Age Group

Children are not small adults. A 7-year-old and a 14-year-old need very different lessons. So we split our kids' Quran classes into 3 age groups. We train our teachers for each group.

  • Ages 4 to 7: 25 minute lessons on letters, sounds and repeating. We use songs, flashcards and lots of praise. The goal is to know and join Arabic letters, and to love the Quran.
  • Ages 8 to 12: 30 minute lessons. Your child finishes Noorani Qaida and starts reading the Quran with Tajweed rules. We add short surahs, daily duas and salah (prayer). Homework is light but daily.
  • Teens 13 to 16: 30 minute lessons on smooth reading and full Tajweed. Teens memorize chosen surahs or Juz Amma (the last part of the Quran). They also study Islam through the questions teenagers really ask.

What Kids Learn in Our Online Quran Lessons

Most children start with Noorani Qaida. It is the standard first book. It teaches the alphabet, vowel marks, how letters join and the first Tajweed rules. Next, your child moves on to Quran reading. The teacher listens to every word. The teacher corrects each sound and rule until the reading is clean. Children who want to memorize then move to a Hifz plan (memorizing the Quran). Each day they learn a new lesson and revise old ones.

Along with reading, every child learns the daily duas (short prayers). They learn how to do wudu and salah, the 6 Kalimas and the basics of Islamic belief and manners. We teach these in small parts inside the same class. So nothing feels like an extra subject.

  • Noorani Qaida and knowing the Arabic letters
  • Quran reading with Tajweed, word by word
  • Memorizing short surahs, then Juz Amma and more
  • Daily duas, salah, wudu and the Kalimas
  • Islamic studies: stories of the Prophets, manners and belief

Same Teacher, Every Class

Children bond with people, not with apps. When you enroll, your child gets one tutor who teaches every class. That teacher learns which letters your child finds hard. The teacher also learns how much praise helps and when to push. A backup teacher steps in only in an emergency. Your regular teacher comes back as soon as possible.

You can ask for a male or a female tutor. Many parents ask for a female teacher for younger children. Boys often move to a male tutor as they near their teens. If you or your child are not happy with the teacher, tell us. We will change the teacher at no cost.

Parents See Everything

You never have to guess what happened in class. The lesson runs on Zoom or Google Meet. Put the device in a shared family room, and you can listen from the next chair. After every class, the teacher writes a short note. It says what was covered, what to practice and any worries. Once a month, you get a progress report from our quality team. This team also reviews recorded lessons.

Some families want even more. For them, we set up a short parent-teacher call every few months. Together, you and the teacher look at the plan. You are part of the class, not outside it.

Is my child safe in an online class?

Yes. We check every teacher before they teach a single child. You can watch any class.

  • We check each teacher's papers, ID and certificates.
  • Each teacher passes a reading test, a live teaching test and an interview. In the interview we look at how they treat children.
  • For their first month, we review the new teacher's classes every week.
  • Parents may join any class. Keep the device in a shared family room.
  • After each class, the teacher writes you a short note. You also get a report every month.
  • Worried about something? We reply within 1 working day.

How a 25 or 30 Minute Kids' Quran Class Works

Short lessons hold attention better than long ones. Daily practice works better than one long class a week. Each class follows the same simple steps. For young children, we cut the class to 25 minutes. We also add a game or a sticker chart.

The teacher shows the Qaida or Quran page on screen. The teacher points to each word as your child reads. So your child always knows the place. A whiteboard is used for letters and rules. Parents do not need to print anything.

  • 2 minutes of revision from the last lesson
  • 10 to 15 minutes of new work, with the teacher correcting as your child reads
  • A quick recap, a dua and a word of praise to finish

Online Quran Classes for Kids in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia

Our teachers live in several regions. This means we can offer after-school times in New York. We offer early evening times in London and Manchester. We also offer evenings in Toronto and Vancouver, and afternoons in Sydney and Melbourne. Weekend classes cost nothing extra. We handle the clock changes for daylight saving, not you.

Many homeschooling families in the US and UK pick a morning time. The Quran class becomes the first lesson of the day. Working parents often pick a fixed time right after school. Whatever you choose, the time is yours. It stays fixed until you ask to move it.

Fees for Kids' Online Quran Classes

Fees are the same for children and adults. They depend only on how many classes your child takes each week. The smallest plan is 2 classes a week. We suggest 3 or 4 classes for Qaida and Quran reading. The 5 classes a week plan is for Hifz. Brothers and sisters each get their own class and their own teacher. We give a discount for the second and third child. All fees are monthly. There is no joining fee and no long contract. See the current prices in USD, GBP, CAD and AUD on our fees page.
