Quran Classes for Siblings: How Families Plan It

Two to four children, at different levels, in one home. Here is how families plan Quran classes for siblings: a class, a teacher and a note for each child, back-to-back slots, a weekly table and the family price.

Two children, two levels, one busy evening. How do Quran classes for siblings work? Do the children share a class? Do they get the same teacher? What does the family pay? This guide shows how a family with 2 to 4 children can plan it.

At Salam Campus, each child has a live 1-on-1 class of their own. The rest is planning: back-to-back slots, a weekly table, jobs for the child who is waiting, and the family price. The table is a plan to try. It promises nothing about how fast any child will learn.

How Do Quran Classes for Siblings Work?

Each child gets their own live 1-on-1 class, their own teacher and their own note after class. Children do not share a class. Classes can sit back to back, so one child finishes and the next begins. A second and a third child pay less each month. Ask for the family price when you book.

That is the short answer. Next come what each child gets, how to line up the evening and what to ask us.

What Each Child Gets

In a family, every child is a separate student. Here is what each child has:

  • A live 1-on-1 class: a standard class lasts 30 minutes. One child and one teacher meet on video, and the teacher hears every word that child reads.
  • A teacher of their own: pick a male or a female teacher for each child. The fee does not change.
  • A starting point of their own: the free trial shows where the child is. A beginner and a child who reads well each start at the right step.
  • A note of their own: each class ends with a short note on what to practise. Each child gets one.
  • A plan of their own: after the trial, the teacher suggests a weekly plan for that child. Plans start at 2 classes a week.

Parents may join any class. If you can, sit in on the first class of each child. It shows you how each teacher works.

Why Back-to-Back Slots Keep the Evening Simple

Picture three classes spread over one evening, with gaps between them. The device, the room and the parent must move again and again. By the end, everyone is tired.

Back-to-back slots fix this. The classes sit in a row, so Quran time is one block, and then it is done. Ask for this when you book, and tell us which hours suit your family. Classes run at any hour, in your own time zone. Here are tips for a block of classes:

  • Put the youngest child first. A young child tires fast, and 30 minutes can feel long at age 4.
  • Set up once: one seat, one device and the headphones, before the first class starts.
  • Let each child stand, stretch and drink water while the next child sits down.
  • Keep a quiet corner for the children who are waiting.
  • Is a long block too much? Tell us, and we can set the classes on different days.

A Weekly Family Table

Here is an example week for a family of three children. Each child has three classes a week, on three class days. The other days are for short practice at home. Change the days to suit your own family:

An example week for three children: the day, the live classes and the work at home
DayLive classesAt home
MondayThree classes in a row: the youngest, then the middle child, then the oldest. Each child reads the lines from their new note once.
TuesdayNo class.Chart time: each child practises for 10 minutes and colours a star.
WednesdayThree classes in a row, in the same order. Each child reads the new note and picks one small task.
ThursdayNo class.Chart time again. An older child listens while a younger one reads a row.
FridayThree classes in a row, in the same order.Colour the last star on each chart.
Saturday or SundayNo class, or one weekend class. A weekend class costs the same.Family reading time: each child reads one thing to the family.

This is only an example. Plans start at 2 classes a week, so your family may need fewer class days. The teacher's note tells each child what to practise.

Keep One Child Busy While Another Is in Class

Children will wait while a brother or sister is in class. Give each waiting child a small, quiet job that belongs to the Quran. Here are some ideas:

  • Chart time: the free kids' Quran practice chart lets the waiting child colour in a star. Print one chart for each child.
  • Soft reading: read the lines from the last note in a low voice, with a finger under each word.
  • Letters: a beginner can look at the letters and the short vowels on the Noorani Qaida chart.
  • A quiet task: colouring, a picture book or a puzzle at the same table. Screens stay off.
  • Headphones for the child in class: pick a pair with a microphone built in. Then a brother or sister in the room does not pull attention away.

Rooms matter too. Seat the waiting child at the far end of the table, or in the next room. Turn the TV off. Our daily Quran routine for kids after school has more ideas for the practice days.

Children at Different Levels in One Family

Brothers and sisters are rarely at the same step, and that is fine. Each class starts where that child is. Here are some common starting points:

Where a child may be, which course may fit and the typical weekly plan
Where the child isA course that may fitTypical weekly plan
Does not know the Arabic letters yetNoorani Qaida3 classes a week (2 to 5 possible)
Knows the letters and is learning to read the Quran with the rules of recitationQuran reading with Tajweed3 classes a week (2 to 5 possible)
Reads well and wants to learn the Quran by heartHifzThe Hifz plan, 5 days a week

The free trial shows each child's level. Then the teacher suggests a course and a plan for that child. Do not worry if your children end up on different courses.

How the Family Price Works

The family price is a lower monthly fee for the second and third child. We do not list the amount on this page. Ask for the family price when you book the trial, and we give it to you in your own currency. Do you have four children? Ask us what each child pays.

Here is what stays the same for every child:

  • Fees depend on the number of classes a week, not on the age of the child.
  • A weekend class or a female teacher costs no more.
  • You pay month by month. There is no joining fee and no contract.
  • Every child can try a free 30-minute class first. No card is needed.

See all plans and ways to pay on our Quran learning fees page.

If One Child Needs a New Teacher

A teacher who suits one child may not suit a brother or a sister. If one child does not click with their teacher, tell us. Once you have enrolled, you may ask for a different teacher whenever you like, and it costs nothing extra. We book a trial class with the new teacher inside a week, and that child's progress record goes across too. The other children keep their own teachers.

Start With a Free Trial for Each Child

Each child can try one free class first. It lasts 30 minutes and is live, with one teacher and one child. You may pick a male or a female teacher. No card is needed, and there is nothing to pay unless you choose a plan. To start, book a free trial class. Say how many children you have, and name the hours that suit your family.
