Hifz Classes Online UK

Hifz Classes Online for UK Students

Hifz (memorising the whole Quran) is a big task. It needs 2 things most of all. First, a teacher who hears you recite every day. Second, a revision plan so you do not forget what you learned last month. Our online Hifz classes give UK students both.

You do not need to drive to a madrasa after school. You do not need to wait for a place at a local Hifz programme. You learn at home.

Every class is live and one-to-one. Here is how it works:

Classes run on UK time, 7 days a week. So you can always find a slot after school, before work or on a Saturday morning.

  • Your child recites to the same teacher every day.
  • The teacher corrects mistakes and writes down what they heard.
  • You get a written report every month.

Why Families Choose Online Hifz Classes in the UK

Most UK families who come to us have already tried local options. These often have problems:

Online Hifz fixes these problems. There is no travel. The teacher gives all their attention to 1 student for the whole class. If something comes up, you can move a class to another time. You do not lose it. Parents can also sit in the room and hear exactly how the lesson goes.

  • The mosque Hifz class is full.
  • The class time clashes with school and homework.
  • One teacher hears 20 children in 1 hour.
  • A home tutor is very good, but hard to find. Home tutors are also expensive, especially in London.

How Our Online Hifz Programme Works

We teach Hifz in a daily cycle. Hifz schools have used this cycle for hundreds of years. We simply run it on a video call instead of at a desk. The cycle has 3 parts.

  • Sabaq (the new lesson): a new part of the Quran. It can be a few lines or a full page, based on the student. The student gets it ready at home. Then they recite it to the teacher.
  • Sabqi (recent revision): the new lessons from the last 7 to 10 days. The student recites these every day until they are strong.
  • Manzil (old revision): a longer part of everything memorised so far. The teacher follows a fixed rota. Over time, the teacher hears everything the student has learned.
  • Each 30 minute class covers all 3 parts. The balance changes as the student grows. At first, most of the class is the new lesson. Later, most of it is revision.

Hifz Classes Online in the UK for Kids

Most children start Hifz between the ages of 7 and 11. First, they must read the Quran well, with good Tajweed (the rules of correct recitation). Is your child not ready yet? Then we start with Noorani Qaida (the first reading book) and Quran reading. We move to memorising when the teacher is happy that the base is strong. The most common reason Hifz stops is simple. The child started before they could read with confidence.

Young students memorise best in short classes every day. Long classes once a week do not work as well. That is why the Hifz plan has 5 classes a week. Teachers keep the class warm and positive. They set small goals, so a child sees progress every week. Parents are welcome to sit in. Many parents do, at least for the first few weeks.

Hifz Classes Online in the UK for Adults

More and more of our UK Hifz students are adults. They include:

Adults bring focus and understanding that children do not have yet. Many adults move faster than they expect.

We build adult Hifz plans around your diary. Many adults take a daily class at 6 or 7 in the morning, UK time. Others learn late in the evening, after the children are asleep. Can you only manage 3 classes a week? Then we will set a slower goal that you can keep up. We would rather you go slowly than give up.

  • University students
  • Working people with 1 hour free before work
  • Mothers at home during the day
  • Older learners who always wanted to memorise and now have the time

Online Hifz Classes on UK Evenings and Weekends

Our teachers work in shifts that cover the whole UK day. We follow GMT in winter and BST in summer. You never need to work out time zones.

These are the most popular times:

All of these times are open. Weekend classes cost the same as weekday classes.

In Ramadan, we open extra slots before suhoor (the meal before dawn) and after taraweeh (the night prayer). Many students switch to revision only for that month. School holiday changes are easy too. Tell us 1 week before and we will move your timetable.

  • For children: 4pm to 8pm on weekdays, and mornings at the weekend.
  • For adults: early morning and late evening.

Revision Cycles That Keep Memorisation Strong

Memorising a new page is the easy part. The hard part is keeping the 200 pages before it strong. This is where most Hifz programmes fail. It is also where we are most careful.

Every student has a revision rota. The teacher keeps it up to date. A juz is 1 of the 30 parts of the Quran. The rota makes sure the teacher hears each juz in full at least once every few weeks.

Here is how revision grows as the student moves forward:

Do you want your Hifz formally certified? Then you can go on to our online Ijazah course. An Ijazah is a certificate from a qualified teacher.

  • When a student finishes a juz, they recite it in 1 sitting. Only then do they move on.
  • When they reach 5 juz, they revise all 5 in a rolling cycle.
  • When they finish the whole Quran, they start a final review stage. They recite the whole mushaf (the printed Quran) to the teacher from memory. Only then do we say the Hifz is complete.

Monthly Parent Reports and Progress Tracking

Each month, your child's teacher sends you a written report. It covers:

Our quality team reads these reports. They also listen to recorded classes at random. This checks that the teaching matches the report.

You do not have to wait for the report. You can ask the teacher for a quick update at any time. You can also join any class. If progress slows, we tell you why. We also tell you our plan to fix it. We may change the daily amount, add a class, or change the teacher.

  • Pages memorised
  • Revision done
  • Tajweed points the student is working on
  • Attendance
  • An honest view of the student's speed

Our Hifz Teachers

Every Hifz teacher on our team is a hafiz or hafizah. This means a man or woman who knows the whole Quran by heart. Each one memorised the Quran with a traditional teacher. Each one has taught Hifz for several years. Many hold an Ijazah in Hafs an Asim. We train all of them in our revision system before they teach a UK student.

We have both male and female teachers. Girls and women can finish the whole programme with a female teacher.

We check every teacher for 3 things: their Tajweed, their patience with children and their spoken English. Does your family speak Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Somali or Arabic at home? Tell us. We will match you with a teacher who can also explain in that language.

Hifz Classes Online in London, Birmingham and Manchester

Our UK students live all over the country. But 3 cities send us the most Hifz questions.

Wherever you live, the class is the same. You can read more on our pages for online Quran classes in London, Birmingham and Manchester. You can also visit our UK page for the whole country.

  • London: families from Tower Hamlets and Newham to Croydon and Hounslow use online classes. They avoid the travel and the long madrasa waiting lists.
  • Birmingham: it has one of the largest Muslim communities in Britain. Parents often add daily online Hifz to a weekend mosque class.
  • Manchester and nearby towns: online classes are often the only way to find a one-to-one Hifz teacher at all.

What a Typical Online Hifz Class Looks Like

The student joins the video call on a laptop, tablet or phone. The mushaf is open in front of them. Here is what happens next:

30 minutes is enough for this cycle. There are no other students to wait for. In that half hour, the teacher has only one job: to listen to your child.

  • The teacher says hello to the student.
  • The student recites the new lesson first, while their mind is fresh.
  • The teacher corrects each mistake at once. The student repeats the line until it is right.
  • The teacher listens to recent revision.
  • The teacher listens to a part of old revision.
  • The teacher sets the goal for the next day. They also write it in the shared progress sheet.

How Long Does Hifz Take Online?

It depends on 3 things: the student's age, how well they read, and how often they practise at home. Here is a rough guide:

We would rather you take longer and remember it well. Rushing and forgetting half of it helps no one. We agree the goals with you at the start. We change them as we see how the student is doing.

  • A child who reads well and takes 5 classes a week usually finishes in 3 to 4 years. This is with home practice every day.
  • A hard-working adult with more time can finish in 2 to 3 years.
  • Students who take 3 classes a week should expect 5 years or more.

Preparing Your Child for Hifz

A little work at home helps a lot. It makes the start of Hifz much smoother. Here are 5 simple steps.

  • Make sure your child reads the Quran well first. If not, start with our Quran reading with Tajweed course. Move to Hifz when the teacher says your child is ready.
  • Set a fixed daily time for the class. Set another 15 to 20 minutes for home practice. The same time every day builds the habit fast.
  • Make a quiet space. Use a stand for the mushaf. Put the device at eye level.
  • Use the same printed mushaf all the way through. Memorising is partly about how the page looks. A different edition changes the page layout and confuses the memory.
  • Celebrate each goal you reach, like each finished surah or juz. Small rewards keep younger children keen.
