Online Quran Classes for Kids in the USA

Which US Time Zone Are Classes In?

Yours. A family in Boston and a family in Seattle both book on their own local clock. The tutor works to it. We also deal with daylight saving, so a 5 pm class stays at 5 pm.

Most kids take class right after school, between 4 pm and 9 pm. Weekend mornings are busy too. A Saturday or Sunday class costs the same as a weekday one.

How Old Should My Child Be?

Age 4 is a good start for most kids. At that age a child can look at a screen for about 20 minutes and copy sounds. No letters are needed first. Older kids who never learned are welcome too. A 10-year-old starts at the first page, just at a faster pace.

What Will My Child Learn First?

Nearly every child begins with Noorani Qaida. This thin book moves from single letters to joined words. Then your child opens the Quran itself, and the tutor corrects each word. Later, some kids go on to memorize the Quran.

Short extras fit inside the same class. These include daily duas, salah and stories from Islamic studies.

Can My Daughter Have a Female Tutor?

Yes. Pick a female teacher on the trial form. She stays with your daughter for the whole course. Female and male tutors cost the same and have the same training. See our female Quran teacher page.

Some parents pick a female tutor for young sons too. You may switch later, for free. We set up a trial with the new tutor within a week.

Next to Sunday School or a Masjid Class

Many US kids already go to a weekend Islamic school. A private class can sit next to it. Tell the tutor what the weekend class covers. The tutor then spends the time on the letters or rules your child finds hard.

Other families have no class nearby, or the drive is long. For them, the online class is the whole plan. Either way, a few short classes each week build the habit.

What Parents See

Classes run on Zoom or Google Meet. Set the laptop or tablet up in the kitchen or living room. Then you hear every class without sitting in it. Parents may also join any class.

After each class, the tutor sends a short note. Once a month, you get a written report. Read how we keep children safe to see every check we do.

Fees in US Dollars

You pay once a month in USD, by card, PayPal or bank transfer. There is no joining fee and no contract. A second and third child pay a lower fee. Pause or change your plan with 1 week's notice. See all plans on the fees page.

Try a free class. You risk nothing.

It is hard to choose a Quran teacher online. So we made the first step free. Every step after it is easy to undo.
