Online Quran Classes in Florida

Online Quran Classes in Florida: One State, Two Time Zones

Most of Florida is on Eastern Time. That includes Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. But the western part of the Panhandle is on Central Time, 1 hour behind. Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City all use Central Time.

This matters when you book. A 5:00 pm class in Orlando is 4:00 pm in Pensacola. Say grandparents in Pensacola want to sit in on a grandchild's class in Tampa. The clock can get confusing fast. So we always book your class in your own local time. Tell us your city, and we do the rest.

We handle daylight saving too. Your class stays at the same local time all year, in both parts of the state.

Slot Table: Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville (ET) vs Pensacola (CT)

A student in Pensacola does not have to take an Eastern slot. They can book 4:30 pm Central, just as a child in Orlando books 4:30 pm Eastern. The table below shows the same moment on both clocks. It helps when family in both zones join one class.

Moving from Tampa to Pensacola, or the other way? Tell us before the move. We shift your class by 1 hour so it stays at the same local time.

Classes run 24 hours a day, so these are only examples:

Classes for Florida Kids

Kids as young as 4 can start. The first step is Noorani Qaida, a small book for the Arabic letters and sounds. Next comes reading the Quran with Tajweed, the rules for saying each letter the right way. Some children later move on to Hifz, learning the Quran by heart.

Each class is 30 minutes, one-on-one, with the same teacher each week. Your child never waits for other students to take a turn. The teacher keeps the lesson short and lively, with lots of reading out loud and quick praise.

Lots of Florida kids have sports or swim practice after school. A class at 7:30 pm after dinner, or on a weekend morning, keeps Quran in the week without a clash. If practice moves, tell us before class. We find a new time in the same month.

Parents can sit in on any class. After each lesson you get a short note. Each month you get a written report on how your child is doing.

Adults and Retirees Learning to Read

Some adults in Florida never had the chance to learn to read the Quran as children. Now, after work or in retirement, they have the time. Others are parents who want to keep up with what their kids are learning. Some are new Muslims starting from the first letter. Some grandparents learn so they can listen to their grandchildren read and help them at home.

Age is no barrier. Our teachers teach adult beginners as well as children. They keep a calm pace and never rush. The page is shown on your screen, and you can zoom in to make the letters bigger. Ask the teacher to repeat a sound as often as you need.

You can book class in the morning or the middle of the day, when the house is quiet. Sisters can choose a female teacher. Teachers can explain in English, Arabic or Urdu.

Courses

Every course is live and private. Pick one to start, or ask your teacher to split the class between two.

Not sure which course to pick? The teacher checks the student's level in the free trial and suggests one.

These are the main choices:

Fees in USD

You pay one fee each month in US dollars, by card, PayPal or bank transfer. Prices are the same in every Florida city and in both time zones. There is no sign-up fee and no contract.

Every class is 30 minutes. Adults can ask for longer classes of 45 or 60 minutes at a custom price. A second or third child pays a lower fee. A weekend class or a female teacher costs nothing extra.

Summer Break and Ramadan Schedules

When school ends for the summer, kids have more free time. You can add classes for those weeks, or move class to the morning. Just give us 1 week's notice. When school starts again, switch back. Summer is also a good time to start a second subject, like Daily Supplications, next to your reading class.

Going away on a trip? Pause with 1 week's notice. You do not pay for paused weeks.

In Ramadan, we plan new times around iftar, the meal at sunset, and taraweeh, the night prayer. You can also take class before suhoor, the meal before dawn. Tell us the times you want in your own time zone.

Storm season can bring power or internet cuts. If you know you will miss class, tell us before it starts. We move it to another time in the same month.

Snowbirds and Families Who Move Around

Some people spend the winter in Florida and the summer up north. Others split the year between Florida and family abroad. An online class can go with you. When you move, tell us your new city, and we set the class in your new time zone. Your teacher stays the same.

Families spread across the state can use one academy too. Say a child lives in Jacksonville and a cousin lives in Pensacola. Each one gets a private class, with the same plans and prices. If you teach more than one child, the second and third child pay a lower fee.

What You Need for Class

There is nothing to buy. The teacher shows the Qaida or Quran page on screen and sends you the class link before the first lesson. Here is all you need:

  • A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera and a microphone.
  • Steady internet. If it drops often, sit close to the router.
  • A quiet spot away from the TV, where the student can read aloud.
  • For older students, a pair of reading glasses or a bigger screen if small letters are hard to see.

How to Start

Booking is free and takes a few minutes. We do not ask for a card. Here is how it works:

  • Send the free trial form. Tell us your city, the student's age and their level.
  • Give us 2 or 3 times in your local time, Eastern or Central.
  • Pick a male or female teacher.
  • We confirm the trial time, most often within 24 hours.
  • Take a real 30-minute class. Then decide. You pay nothing unless you go on.
