Online Quran Classes in Houston

Quran Classes for Houston Families Without the Commute

Houston has one of the largest Muslim communities in the United States. The city is big, and it takes a long time to cross at rush hour. An evening class at a center can mean 1 hour on the freeway each way. Many parents cannot fit that around work and school. Salam Campus brings the class to your home instead. Each lesson is live, private and 30 minutes long. Your child can finish homework, join the class, and still go to bed on time.

You keep the same tutor for the whole course. This matters more than most parents expect. The tutor hears your child read every week. So the tutor knows which letters are still hard and which rules your child now knows well. Then the tutor can go faster or slower as needed.

Online Quran Teacher in Houston

Every Salam Campus tutor holds a recognized Quran qualification. Most also hold an Ijazah (a certificate to teach and recite the Quran). Each tutor is trained to teach on screen, not just to read on camera. Houston students can choose a male or female teacher. Some parents pick one tutor for a son and another for a daughter.

Our tutors speak clear English. They are used to teaching American children who may not hear Arabic at home. Lessons are in English. Your child learns Arabic words as they come up in the Quran. If your family prefers Urdu, we also have Urdu-speaking tutors.

Quran Classes for Kids in Houston

Most Houston children start with Noorani Qaida (a beginner book for Arabic letters and sounds). It teaches each letter and its correct sound from the start. Then your child moves on to Quran reading with Tajweed (the rules for reading the Quran correctly). Young children cannot focus for long, so classes are short and follow a clear plan. A class for a 7-year-old looks like this:

Parents get a short note after each class. You can sit in on any class you like. The class is one-on-one, so your child never falls behind a group. Your child also never waits while other students take a turn.

  • A quick review of the last lesson
  • A few new letters or 1 new rule
  • Some reading practice with the tutor
  • A small goal for the next class

Learn Quran Online from Houston with Tajweed

Adults in Houston join us for many reasons. Some want to fix reading they learned years ago without proper lessons. Some want to lead prayers for their family. Others want to read Arabic for the first time. Your tutor listens to you read and fixes each mistake as it happens. Then the tutor explains the rule behind it in plain words.

You can book a class early in the morning before work. You can also book at lunchtime, or late at night after the children are asleep. You set the pace. The tutor shows the pages on screen, so you do not need to buy a special printed copy.

Class Times That Fit Central Time

Houston is on Central Time, and we plan our class times around it. The busiest times are 4 pm to 9 pm on school days. There are also many open slots on weekends for families who like a Saturday or Sunday routine. Classes start as early as 6 am. Many adults like to study before their workday starts.

If your plans change, you can move a class. Just tell us 1 day before. You can make up a missed class in the same month. In Ramadan, we change the class times so students can keep studying. Classes fit around suhoor (the meal before dawn) and taraweeh (the night prayers of Ramadan).

Quran Courses Popular with Houston Students

Houston families choose 4 courses most often. You can see them in the list below. Noorani Qaida is for beginners. Memorize Quran Online is for children and adults working toward Hifz (memorizing the whole Quran). Islamic Studies for Kids covers prayer, duas (short prayers) and good manners. Each course has its own page with the full course plan. The links are below.

  • Noorani Qaida: letters, vowels and joining letters, the base for all later lessons
  • Quran Reading with Tajweed: read the whole Quran smoothly and follow every rule
  • Memorize Quran Online: a clear Hifz plan with daily review
  • Islamic Studies for Kids: prayer, duas and Islamic manners in plain English

Fees for Houston Students in US Dollars

We bill fees each month in USD. There is no sign-up fee and no long contract. Here are the monthly prices:

Every class is 30 minutes and private, on every plan. Hifz students and adults can ask for longer classes of 45 or 60 minutes. This lets them cover more in each class. A second child from the same family gets a discount. You can pause or change your plan with 1 week's notice.

  • 2 classes a week: $40 a month
  • 3 classes a week: $54 a month
  • 4 classes a week: $71 a month
  • 5 classes a week: $88 a month
  • Hifz plan with daily classes: $175 a month

Why Houston Parents Choose Salam Campus

Parents tell us the same 3 things. First, the lesson happens at home, so nobody has to drive. Second, the child keeps 1 teacher. Third, the parent can see what was taught. We also offer prices in USD, a free trial and a support line that answers 24 hours a day. For most parents, that makes the choice easy.

We also teach families in the rest of Texas and across the country. A cousin in Dallas or a grandparent in New York can join too. They book with the same academy, and often with the same tutor.
