Online Quran Classes for Kids in Australia

Which Clock Do We Book On?

Your own. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra book on AEST. Perth books on AWST, with no daylight saving. Adelaide and Darwin book on Central time.

Queensland keeps AEST all year. So a Brisbane class at 5 pm stays at 5 pm in January and in July. In NSW, Victoria and the ACT, your slot moves with the clocks by itself.

Most kids take class between 4 pm and 8.30 pm on school days, or mid-morning on weekends. Your evening falls in our tutors' working day, so there are plenty of evening slots.

How Long Is Each Class?

It depends on age. Small children get a shorter class with games. Older kids get a full 30 minutes of reading.

Class length and focus by age
AgeClass lengthMain focus
4 to 725 minutesArabic letters and their sounds, with lots of praise
8 to 1230 minutesFinish the Qaida, then read the Quran with Tajweed
13 to 1630 minutesSmooth reading, plus Juz Amma or chosen surahs by heart
7 and up, strong readers30 to 60 minutesHifz, with daily new lessons and review

Fitting Classes Around School Terms

Australian schools have 4 terms, with a 2-week break between them. The long summer break runs from mid-December to late January.

Some families keep one slot all year. Others add classes in the breaks and take fewer in exam weeks. Tell your tutor 1 week ahead and we change the plan. Paused weeks are not billed.

What Does My Child Study?

First comes Noorani Qaida, a small book that builds from letters to words. Then your child reads the Quran, and the tutor fixes each sound. Kids who read well can start Hifz from age 7.

Each week also has a little time for duas, prayer and Islamic studies.

Male or Female Tutor?

You choose. Pick a female teacher on the trial form, and she keeps your child for the whole course. Both cost the same. Read more about our female Quran teachers.

Not the right match? Tell us. We set up a trial with a new tutor within a week, at no cost.

Keeping Parents in the Loop

Put the device in a shared room. Then you can hear each class, and you may join any class. The tutor writes a note after every class, and you get a report each month.

Every tutor passes ID and certificate checks, a reading test, a teaching test and an interview first. See how we keep children safe.

Fees in Australian Dollars

Fees are billed monthly in AUD. Pay by card, PayPal or bank transfer. There is no sign-up fee and no lock-in contract. Brothers and sisters pay a lower fee. Compare every plan on the fees page.
