The last ten nights are the closing part of Ramadan. Many families want to make them calm and special, but do not know where to begin. A small plan that everyone can follow beats a big plan that stops after two nights.
You will find the expected dates of the last 10 nights of Ramadan 1448. There is also one hadith on the odd nights. Then comes a simple 10-night plan with short Quran portions, duas and a version for kids. This guide gives no rulings. If you wonder about fasting or i'tikaf (staying in the mosque for worship), ask your imam.
What Is a Simple Family Quran Plan for the Last 10 Nights?
Keep it short and the same every night. Sit together for about 10 minutes after iftar or before bed. Learn a small piece of the Quran, say one dua from our guide and end with a kind word. In our plan, you learn Surah Al-Qadr (5 ayahs) first, and then Surah Al-Ikhlas (4 ayahs).
Iftar is the meal that breaks the fast at sunset. You do not need the Arabic letters to join. Listen to each ayah and say it back. Then read its meaning in your language. Adults who read Arabic may add their own reading. Parents can sit with young children, which makes it easier.
When Are the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan 1448?
Treat every date here as expected, not final. We worked them out with the AlAdhan Islamic calendar converter, using the Umm al-Qura method. It is a calculated calendar, so the real dates may move by a day. They depend on the moon, and on which dates your local mosque follows.
Each Islamic day starts at sunset, so a night comes before its day. The night of 21 Ramadan starts at sunset on 20 Ramadan. On this calendar, the month starts on Monday 8 February 2027. The night of 21 Ramadan is then expected to start at sunset on Saturday 27 February 2027. Here are the key dates:
| Event | Expected date | Day |
|---|---|---|
| Ramadan 1448 starts | 8 February 2027 | Monday |
| Night 21 starts at sunset | 27 February 2027 | Saturday |
| Night 29 starts at sunset | 7 March 2027 | Sunday |
| Shawwal 1448 starts | 9 March 2027 | Tuesday |
This calendar gives Ramadan 1448 only 29 days. So Shawwal, the next month, is expected to start on Tuesday 9 March 2027. The month may have 30 days instead, and then there is a night 30. Our plan starts on the night of 21 Ramadan. Your mosque may count the last ten nights in another way, so ask your imam. What Does the Hadith Say About the Odd Nights?
A hadith records what the Prophet said or did. Aisha, the Prophet's wife, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated one about the Night of Qadr. Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, spoke of it. He told people to look for it in the odd nights of the last ten days (Sahih al-Bukhari 2017). Laylat al-Qadr means the Night of Decree.
Surah Al-Qadr says that this night is better than a thousand months (Quran 97:3). This guide does not name a night. It only passes on the hadith. On this calendar, the odd nights are 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29. They are marked in the plan table below. Night 21 is expected to start at sunset on Saturday 27 February 2027, and night 29 on Sunday 7 March.
This is a report of the Prophet's words, not a ruling. Do you have a question about fasting or i'tikaf? Ask your imam.
A 10-Night Family Quran Plan
The plan takes about 10 minutes a night. Sit together after iftar or before bed, and follow the steps in the table. Learn Al-Qadr on nights 21 to 25, one ayah at a time. Each new ayah joins the ones before it. Learn Al-Ikhlas on nights 26 to 29 in the same way. Night 30 is a review night.
The duas come from the daily duas for kids guide. It lists each dua with its sounds in English letters, and gives the meaning. If the month has 29 days, there is no night 30, so do the review on any evening you like. Here is the plan:
| Night (starts at sunset on) | Quran together | Dua from the guide |
|---|---|---|
| 21 (odd): Sat 27 Feb | Al-Qadr, ayah 1 | After eating |
| 22: Sun 28 Feb | Al-Qadr, ayahs 1 to 2 | After wudu |
| 23 (odd): Mon 1 Mar | Al-Qadr, ayahs 1 to 3 | Leaving home |
| 24: Tue 2 Mar | Al-Qadr, ayahs 1 to 4 | Coming home |
| 25 (odd): Wed 3 Mar | Al-Qadr, ayahs 1 to 5 | Before sleeping |
| 26: Thu 4 Mar | Al-Ikhlas, ayah 1 | Waking up |
| 27 (odd): Fri 5 Mar | Al-Ikhlas, ayahs 1 to 2 | After eating |
| 28: Sat 6 Mar | Al-Ikhlas, ayahs 1 to 3 | After wudu |
| 29 (odd): Sun 7 Mar | Al-Ikhlas, ayahs 1 to 4 | Before sleeping |
| 30: Mon 8 Mar | Review both surahs | Your favourite |
What Do the Two Surahs Mean?
Say the meaning of each ayah in your own words before you learn its sounds. Here are the two surahs in short:
- Al-Qadr (97) has 5 ayahs. It opens: Inna anzalnahu fi laylatil-qadr (إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ). It says that the Quran was sent down in the Night of Qadr. That night is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit come down in it, and it ends with peace until dawn.
- Al-Ikhlas (112) has 4 ayahs and begins: Qul huwa Allahu ahad (قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ). Allah is One and the Eternal Refuge. No one is like Him, and He has no child.
A Kids' Version of the Plan
Young children can join the same plan in a lighter form. Try these ideas:
- Shorten it to 5 minutes. Your child says only that night's new ayah, twice.
- Tell the story first: the Quran came down in the Night of Qadr, a night better than a thousand months.
- Let your child pick the dua or the sticker for the night.
- Use the free Ramadan Quran reading planner. Page 3 holds a month chart for children. Your child colours one star each day.
- Praise the effort, not the speed. If your child is tired, say a surah they know already.
- Older kids who can read can take turns to read an ayah aloud while the family listens.
Can Adults Read More Than This?
Yes. Adults who read Arabic may want more than a short portion. Our plan to finish the Quran in Ramadan counts the pages for each day. You can add your own reading after the family time.
Tips for a Calm Last 10 Nights
These small habits keep the plan light:
- Ten calm minutes beat an hour that nobody enjoys.
- Use the same spot and the same time each night, so the plan becomes a habit.
- Put phones away for those 10 minutes.
- Missed a night? Carry on the next night. There is no need to make up two in one.
- For any question about fasting, night prayer or i'tikaf, ask your imam.
Quran Time With a Live Teacher
On a live call, a teacher can help your family say each ayah well. Every lesson at Salam Campus is live. It is one-on-one with a teacher and lasts 30 minutes. A parent may join any lesson. Pick a male teacher or a female teacher, whichever you prefer. Lessons are open day and night, so a time after iftar works in your own time zone.
Do you have lessons already? The Ramadan Quran classes page lists your choices for the month.
The first lesson is a free trial and takes 30 minutes. No card is needed. Next, book the trial and say who will take part in the plan.
