February Half Term Quran Plan for Kids (UK, 2027)

Half term is a week with no school run, so it is a good time for a small Quran habit. Here is a 5-day table of 15-minute tasks, where to check your own council's 2027 dates and how a live class fits the week.

February half term gives UK children a week without the school run. It is a good time to build a small Quran habit, with or without half term Quran classes. Below you will find a 5-day table of short tasks, and steps to find your own half term dates.

Dates differ from council to council, and Ramadan 2027 may fall close to half term. So the plan is short and easy to move. Every task comes from our other guides on Noorani Qaida, short surahs and daily duas. We promise no results, and we give no religious rulings.

What Is a Good Quran Plan for a Half Term Week?

A good half term Quran plan is small and the same each day. Give your child 15 minutes a day. Each day has one task: a Qaida row, one ayah of a short surah, a dua or a revision. Pick a fixed time. Book a live class too if you would like a teacher to hear them.

Children from about age 4 can follow it with a parent close by. Older readers can use the same table with harder tasks. See the tips further down.

When Is February Half Term in 2027? Check Your Own Council

There is no one date for the whole UK. Each council or school sets its own half term. GOV.UK tells parents to find half term dates on their local council's website, and it says the dates vary across the UK. So do not trust a date from a blog, and that includes this one.

To show how much they differ, here are three public pages that list February 2027. They are examples, not your dates:

Tower Hamlets, EnglandHalf term from Monday 15 to Friday 19 February 2027Tower Hamlets Council term dates
WalesHalf term from Monday 8 to Friday 12 February 2027, the same for each of the 22 councils on the listGOV.WALES approved school term dates 2026 to 2027
Edinburgh, ScotlandMid term break from Monday 15 to Friday 19 February 2027City of Edinburgh Council school term dates 2026/27

Wales lists a different week from the other two. Your school may also have its own calendar, so check it too.

How to Find Your Own Dates

Follow these steps, then write your dates at the top of the table further down:

  • Open the GOV.UK term dates page. It covers England and Wales, and it points to separate pages for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Type your postcode to find your local council, then open the council's term dates page.
  • Find the February half term row for 2027.
  • Check your child's school too, in case it sends home its own calendar.

What If Half Term Falls in Ramadan?

Ramadan 2027 is expected to start about 8 February 2027. Our guide to Ramadan 2027 expected dates and fasting hours shows where that date comes from. The real start depends on the moon sighting, so it may be a day later in some places.

So your half term week may fall inside Ramadan, or close to it. That depends on your council's dates and on the moon. Look at both dates when you know them.

This plan works inside or outside Ramadan. It gives no fasting advice for children. For that, ask your family's imam or teacher.

If half term does fall in Ramadan, our free Ramadan Quran planner can sit beside this table. Page 3 is a kids' month chart with 30 stars to colour.

A 5-Day Table: 15 Minutes a Day

Each day has the same shape. Start with Bismillah. Do the day's core task. End by going over yesterday's task, then colour a star. Add the quiet extra only if your child is happy to carry on. Saturday and Sunday can be rest days.

For a new ayah, use the five steps in our short surahs for kids guide. Unsure how a word is said? Have a teacher or your imam hear it once, before the sound sticks in memory.

A 5-day half term Quran plan: the core 15 minutes and a quiet extra for each day
DayCore 15 minutesQuiet extra, 5 to 10 minutes
MondayNoorani Qaida. Read last week's lines, then one new row. Read the new row 3 times. See the Noorani Qaida lessons. The dua for waking up. Say it together as the day starts. The words are in our daily duas for kids guide.
TuesdayShort surah. Learn ayah 1 of Al-Kawthar, which has 3 ayahs. Listen, repeat and say it alone. The dua before eating. Your child says Bismillah first at their next meal.
WednesdayQaida or Quran reading. Pick the lesson your child is on, such as fatha, kasra and damma or sukoon and shaddah.Revision. Your child says ayah 1 of Al-Kawthar from memory.
ThursdayShort surah. Add ayah 2 of Al-Kawthar, then say ayahs 1 and 2 together. Ayah 3 can wait until after half term. The dua for leaving home. Say it at the door before an outing.
FridayRevision and show time. Your child says Al-Kawthar so far and the week's duas to the family, then reads one Qaida row. Colour the last star.Choose next week's task together, so the habit carries on when school starts.

Changes for Younger and Older Children

Children differ, so bend the table to suit yours:

  • Age 4 or 5: cut the time to five or ten minutes. One Qaida row or one ayah is a good day.
  • Your child already reads Arabic: on Monday and Wednesday, they read a surah they know aloud to you. Keep Thursday for a new ayah.
  • A trip or a busy day: do the core task in the car or on the train, with a printed sheet. Skip the extra.
  • A missed day: do not double up the next day. Do the missed task next, move the week on by a day and leave that star empty.

Keep Track With a Free Chart

A star on paper keeps half term on track. Our free kids' Quran practice chart shows a month of daily stars. Beside them are a box for class days and a spot for a parent's signature each week. Page 3 is a Juz Amma tracker.

It is made for 10 minutes a day, and a 15-minute day can still earn one star. In the UK, print it on A4 paper at 100% scale. Choose Actual size in the print window, not Fit to page.

How a Live Class Fits a Half Term Week

The table builds the habit. A teacher hears each sound and fixes it. At Salam Campus, teaching is live and 1-on-1, and you can pick a man or a woman as your teacher. A kids' class is 30 minutes long, and parents may join.

We teach 24/7 and set each class in UK time. So a morning class is possible while school is out.

Already in classes? Give us 1 week's notice for half term. You can keep your slot, shift it or pause, and you can add lessons too. You do not pay for paused weeks, and we try to give you the same teacher when you return. A change on the day? Let us know before the class begins, and we will shift it to another time that month.

New to us? You can start with a free 30-minute trial lesson, and no card is needed. Book your free trial and tell us which half term times suit you.
